Knitting at Las Palmas!

We visited Las Palmas, a retirement community, earlier this week and spoke to Jennifer Pickett, Enrichment Coordinator, to see if any of the residents there would be interested in teaching our team the basics of knitting blankets. We thought this skill could be very useful considering we are hoping to knit and distribute blankets to the waiting rooms at Halifax within the next few months. Mrs. Pickett was extremely friendly and booked us March 10th to work alongside two woman staying at the community. The event was very educational and we had a great time bonding and working with the two woman who taught us the basics of how to knit. We hope we are able to apply these basics in the future and look forward to meeting again!

¡Tejer en Las Palmas!

Visitamos Las Palmas, una comunidad de jubilación, a principios de esta semana y habló con Jennifer Pickett, Coordinador de enriquecimiento, a ver si alguno de los residentes allí estarían interesado en la enseñanza de nuestro equipo los conceptos básicos de tejer mantas. Pensamos que esta habilidad puede ser muy útil teniendo en cuenta que esperamos tejer y distribuir mantas a las salas de espera en Halifax dentro de los próximos meses. Sra. Pickett era extremadamente amable y nos reservó el 10 de marzo para trabajar junto a dos mujeres en la comunidad. El evento fue muy educativo y tuvimos un gran momento de la vinculación y trabajo con las dos mujeres que nos enseñaron los conceptos básicos de cómo hacer punto. ¡Esperamos que son capaces de aplicar estos conceptos básicos en el futuro y esperamos que la reunión otra vez!
